Rep. Ron Kind Statement on Overturning of Same-Sex Marriage Ban in Wisconsin

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-WI) released the following statement regarding the overturning of Wisconsin’s same-sex marriage ban:

“This decision is an important step toward full equality for all Wisconsinites. If two people want to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for one another, then the government shouldn't stand in the way. History has repeatedly shown us that discrimination never works.

“Tawni and I have been married for 19 years and we’re both stronger people because we love and support each other. In Wisconsin, the joys of marriage should be possible for everyone.”
