Kind to Obama: Give up Super Bowl Tickets
La Crosse Tribune
Rep. Ron Kind engaged in some interstate taunting, asking President Barack Obama to hand over his Super Bowl tickets after the Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears Sunday to advance to the championship game.
Obama said last week after a White House meeting with President Hu Jintao of China that he would attend the Super Bowl if the Bears won Sunday.
"The President said if the Chicago Bears made the Super Bowl, he would definitely attend," Kind said in a statement released this morning. "Since they of course got pummeled last night by none other than the Green Bay Packers, I'm wondering if he would be so kind as to hand over his tickets."
Spokeswoman Leah Hunter said Kind had not yet heard from the White House.
The Packers beat their arch-rival Bears 21-14 in the NFC Championship game. They will face the Pittsburgh Steelers Feb. 6 in Arlington, Texas.
