Many Wisconsinites feel that over the past decade economic growth has focused on the East Coast and the West Coat and left the Heartland behind. It is time we take steps to fix this problem.

During Black History Month, I always think of La Crosse native, George Poage. George was the first African-American athlete to win a medal at the Olympic games in 1904. I hope that everyone takes some time this month to honor the contributions African-Americans have made to our communities.
